Hi, I believe this file wscript.exe has no benefit in my computer and I heard that it makes my files in the hard disks become shortcuts ..etc etc

So I wanna remove it or I want it to never be ran again. Can I do that ?

Solution
Run some anti-malware and AV, easiest way to clean up the stupidly simple ones like that. Got a similar one on our network shares not too long ago. Completely ineffective, since it couldn't get past the firewall, the idea was that all your folders would redirect you to a website to generate hits. After it was removed we, in an ironic twist, wrote a script to unhide our real folders and delete the shortcuts.

bleepingcomputer.com 's combofix plus Malware Bytes should clean it up.

wscript.exe is the Windows script host for running C script, VB script and others. You really want to keep that around.

If you have malware that is in script form, you will want to start to run some AV and Anti-Malware applications.

I think there is a malware script somwhere in my computer that when it's ran, all the files in my Flash Disk become shortcuts, thus I searched for that script in my Flash Disk and didn't find it, so I thought about removing the whole executer , which is wscript.exe

@ChrisPat: Not exactly, I can't even remove it, it's just like svchost.exe
