Actually the 7900/280 series cards from AMD overclock very well and give a very nice boost to performance.

I haven't OC'd a video card in a few years, but in my experience it's not worth the effort and risk of burning something out, because you don't get very much 'more' out of them. I'm all for experimenting and learning however, I know that AMD has one for their cards called 'AMD OverDrive', another newer one is called Trixx. There's a multitude of them out there, and they all do pretty much the same thing. I'd welcome others' opinions on this, as I am outdated in the field.

You can easily get +10fps better than VS stock clocks.

And everything is pretty much safe id you dont increase voltage.

3dmark11 for example

R9 290 stock - 14300 graphic score
1100/1300 overclocked ~16600
