Hello,

I just bought new PC:
Core i5-4590
Gigabyte H97 Gaming 3
Gainward nVidia GTX760 Phantom 2GB DDR5
Crucial 8GB KIT DDR3 1600MHz CL8 Ballistix Tactical LP
SSD Intel 520 120GB Bulk
Western Digital Blue 1000GB 64MB cache

I can start installation of Windows 8.1 from DVD in UEFI mode, but after first restart during installation Win should boot from SSD, but it won't. I found out, that in bios I can't even see the SSD or HDD in UEFI booting option, only Legacy. I tried to convert SSD to GPT (necessity for installation) but it won't help.

Any suggestions? I tried everything and I am desperate.
Thanks

Thanks for answer. When I was installing Win on SSD, HDD was always disconnected and vice versa. I tried your advice with clear cmos and nothing changes. And ACHI is set.

Wonder if that SSD needs a firmware update. Their 530 SSD had firmware probs. And it kept disappearing too

Do you know what firmware is on this SSD??

I would burn the ISO here leave it connected and see if it gets updated

Obviously you cant use the toolbox you cant get into windows !

Here's the 530 prob. Sounds similar to yours

Customers couldnt use it because nothing could see it! It kept disappearing after reboots

If I were you I would replace the SSD / RMA it

I would avoid the 520 and 530. Both have firmware bugs

Tried burn ISO file, says that firmware of SSD is up to date. And I have another HDD, WD 1000GB Blue with the same problem. And I can boot Win from old HDD with Win 7...
