Hi,

i have a 2006 Acer Aspire 5552-3691 laptop. I used to play this online game called Unreal Tournament 2004 with no problem. But now i have reinstalled the same game and i now get this message: Please enable Direct3D acceleration. You can do this by starting dxdiag and enabling Direct3D Acceleration in the Display1/2 tab after installing DirectX8.1 (or Later) and the latest drivers for your graphics card.

i have installed DirectX 11, and im trying to figure out how to install a better driver for my graphics card. i dont know what to do at this point. HELP!!!!!!

thanks

You can have more than one version of Directx on your computer. It is like NetFRameWOrk there can be multiple versions of it. So after installing Directx9 and a reinstall, are you still getting the same issues?

I might even suggest reinstalling the game after doing so with a clean install. Also if you are installing the game and it asks do you want to install some of the versions it suggests like Directx and such make sure you check those off so it will install or attempt to. If it cannot due to newer version it won't.

Did you enable the Direct3D acceleration like it said? To install drivers, you can either find some for your computer on google or have windows check for you by finding your device in device manager, then right click on it and select "Update driver software". Your graphics card should be under display adapters if you have one.

What operating system are you using - your computer is really old and may not be able to handle all the features in DirectX 11

Have you run dxdiag and on the pop-up window (usually the second tab) does it tell you whether Direct 3D acceleration is enabled or disabled?

Have you tried running the game?
