Creative Sound Blaster Zx - upgrade for Logitech z506

Hey so i currently have the Creative Sound Blaster Zx and logitech z506 sound system to go with it. but it sounds weird bass is to strong and odd to configure. i might have it plugged in wrong if anyone knows how this specific setup should be connected please let me know or send to to another forum that answers this question please. budget for a better system is up to 300 give or take 20.

Can you define what you mean by "odd to configure?" Normally, I would suggest opening the equalizer and turning the bass down, but it sounds like you are having a problem with that.

Also, can you try listening with some known good headphones to tell if the problem is in the soundcard or the speakers? Or attach a good source like a CD player to the speakers and see if they sound ok.

its not the either parts when i plug in the z506 green orange and black to the soundcard i do not have the option to raise or lower base. the 2nd port in from the outside. the port 4 away from the optical out needs to have one of the plugs in it to have bass control but then the hole system is static sounding and the bass is way to deep.
