If those cards would play at all at that resolution, it would certainly be on the lowest settings in the game. Well, unless it was an old 2D side scroller or DX9 game. Those cards are more suited to 1920x1080 at medium to low settings.
Are you running multiple screens?
Read a few review, that resolution needs more like a GTX 970 or 980 to get decent frame rates. Two (2) of those cards to get 60 FPS at very high settings.
