Ok first thing I would like to mention is that I used to be a AMD video card user, so the proper procedure I always took when trying to install fresh new drivers was to uninstall the AMD Catalyst software(along with the drivers), use DriveSweeper to clean any old AMD driver files, download new drivers from the official website, then install the new drivers with the AMD Catalyst software. I did this for almost two year with AMD cards and it worked flawlessly every time.
So I recently switch to an Nvidia GTX 770(about a month ago) and did the same procedure like I explained above. Every time I try to uninstall the drivers I was met with hardware issues. For example my motherboard would not detect my GPU, network adapter, or any of my display adapters.
Thankfully I got that fixed. Since I want to avoid any future hardware/device issues, I want to know, what is the proper way to install new Nvidia drivers? Do you just install the new drivers over the old ones, which I experienced can cause some stuttering problems because of conflicting driver files. Do you just do a straight install from GeForce Experience? What do you guys do?
