OK, so building a new PC slowly, but surely. It will be used for somewhat heavy gaming. And also to record(FRAPS) games, and hook up cap card to my Wii U ( NEw Zelda game coming soon!) and using Sony Vegas, to edit/render in HD. Also like to use programs like Blender.

This is the setup I have so far:

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117372

MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128714

GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125685

SSD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820168088

PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438017

Ok, so with this intended setup, what type of RAM should I get? I dont know anything about changing voltages/overclocking RAM, and have no intention of doing. SO I need something, that is ready to go out of the box, with high performance.

I may , or may not overclock the CPU. ( have never overclocked before, but am considering doing it. But NOT the RAM)

I would like to have at minimum 16 GB of RAM. And my budget is 100-150 USD.

SO any links, or any suggestions? Also, let me know if the MOBO is a good fit.
( I know there are better ones, but my budget for MOBO is 100-150 tops)

Thanks.

I do like Gskill. I have an 8GB ripjaws kit from 2011 in my current build. But let me ask you, I look at the specs page and see this:

"To reach rated memory speed, enabling Intel XMP profile or manual BIOS tuning is required"

What does that mean exactly? Am I paying for speed, that I wont be able to achieve? And..how hard is it to tweak it in my bios menu? Also, does tweaking it, void my warranty?

It means that it will probably set the ram to 1333mhz or 1600mhz default. That mobo has a uefi bios so yes it is very easy to tweak all you really have to do is change the memory speed number from 1600 or 1333 to 1866 very easy. There are probably many youtube videos that will go into detail abt this if u get confused.

Heh ya I just watched a youtube video, and ya, Just enable XMP profile, and BOOM! done. Then of course can check the speed in CPU Z, to make sure. But ya. pretty nice. Now all I need is for January to hurry up and get here, so I can get my tax return to afford all this stuff! Wish Newegg had some sort of layaway..I cant tell you how many times, they discontinued selling an item, by the time I saved up the money for it :(

LOL that is why I plan builds when I am buying, prices change as well as new options come on the market.. Might recommend different ram than the G.Skill when when that time comes.

Enter your BIOS and select an XMP profile - usually 1 otherwise the memory will not run at the rated speed. Some motherboards like ASUS have automatic over clocking abilities where you can have the software OC the CPU and memory automatically.

It will not void your warranty. The memory is rated to run at that speed.

For instance memory rated at 2133mhz actually is slower at its base speed -might be 1600mhz- but OCs to 2133mhz in XMP 1.
