Hi, my pc is making a disc kind of sound, kind of like an xbox 360 when first booting up a game, however theres no disk in the drive. The main culprit I think could be my ssd or hdd, and it only happens for a minute or two after it boots up, then its just goes away, its not too loud, which means I cant really tell if it dies down or just goes instantly. Any help with locating this sound would be great. cheers.

It could be the drive. I would also look at your fans. Sometimes fans will go to 100% for a period of time as the system boot up, and then will allow the fans to slow down as needed.

Open your case and then boot up the system, and you will probably get a better idea of what is causing the noise. If this is a new noise, then it may just be dust in the fans causing them to be louder than normal.

Yeah it may be, the dust is probably causing the fans to mess up as they get slower, because like you said, my fans always go 100% when i boot up and back down in about 5 or so seconds. Anyway, cheers for the quick reply.
