Need some help deciding on a new GPU. (Forgive me, I'm dumb.)

Hey all. My GTX 580 just bummed out on me, unfortunately, so I'm looking for a replacement. My current power supply unit is 750w and this is the motherboard that I currently have.

These are the two cards I've been looking at.

and

Would either of these be compatible with my current motherboard? And if so, which card would you personally recommend? I've read great things about both, but I don't really know the difference in performance. (I'm not very bright when it comes to computer hardware.)

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Thanks again for the feedback, everyone. If anyone might happen to read this, does it matter or make a difference whether I install the card normally or upside down? My old card was pre-installed upside down, and I was curious as to why. I'm unaware of the advantages or reasons for this. Thanks!

Darn, looks like you were right. Was just about to purchase when the darn thing went out of stock haha. Yikes.

I may wait a bit for a restock or look elsewhere for another 970, but may I ask what your thoughts are on the 770 card? would it still be a decent upgrade from my old 580?
