So, I have an I3 2100 3.1Ghz, 4gb of Ram, and an ATI 6670. I am right about to buy a 630W Antec PSU along with an R9 270 (2GB GDDR5 Ram) graphics card.

Right now I'm using an ATI 6670, so an R9 270 will be a ridiculously massive upgrade. I would upgrade my CPU and RAM as well, but I simply can't afford to at least for 1-2 more years.

My plan once I get the R9 270 is to max out the settings in most games as much as possible so most of the resource-strain is placed onto the GPU, and not my ram or CPU. I hope this works.

Nonetheless, I'm optimistic this will be an extremely good gaming rig, the R9 270 should at least be 4x as good as my ATI 6670...

P.S 1; I wonder if I should save 10-15 dollars by downgrading the PSU and using that money to get an extra 2GB of ram.. I think 630W is totally overkill, perhaps?

:D

P.S 2; considering I've been using a an ATI 6670 for the last 3 years, I'm essentially a computer peasant xD. I think my standards are so low right now (I consider 20 Frames per second totally playable), that this will be AMAZING...!)

Thanks! Just edited my post. I'm not sure where I got this theory from, but is it true that RAM should ideally be upgraded in variables of 4? I.e, 4gb, 8gb, etc...?

Is 6gb of RAM an awkward amount of ram to have, will it have any side-effects I'm not aware of?

Thanks a ton again!

Fry's is selling it for only 165 dollars, and with a 20 dollar rebate; so it's basically like I'm getting an 7870 for 145 dollars. Compare that with an 750 Ti which is far less powerful, at 180 dollars.

What a great deal..0_0

In effect, instead of paying 500-600 dollars for an XBOX One or PS4 (plus upgrades), I instead spent 250 something dollars on a few computer upgrades! =D
