Driver problems with AMD Radeon R9 270x results in BSOD

i just got a new computer build and the first issue i had was a pop up that said: "display driver stopped responding and has recovered", after a few times of getting this, it stopped working alltogether and the computer didn't recognise the gpu. upon reinstalling the drivers for the Radeon R9 270x from the install cd again, at the restart i got a BSOD, with the code atikmpag.sys. I've read loads of forums about it but nothing's worked out, neither installing older versions of the drivers nor expanding the atikmpag.sy with cmd.exe or reinstalling windows from scratch. I've sent it to have it checked by the seller, and supposedly every component has been tested and there should be no hardware issue (nor software for the matter). When consulting technicians though, they say that a fine working GPU shouldn't have this problem, and that it could be faulty hardware causing it.
Another thing that i don't understand is that the computer, when restored to an earlier time, recognises the gpu but when looking at the device manager, it has an exclamation mark and in the properties box it says that windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers, therefore i can't install any games. I've tried with the solutions i could find for that problem, but it didn't work either.
My specs are
MOBO Asus B85M-G
GPU AMD Radeon R9 270 x
PSU Sentey BRP 600w
Intel core i7 4770K
Windows 7
I need some opinions as to how to proceed. I will thank them endlessly.

Hi! thanks for answering! i don't have a different computer to try it. is there any other way to confirm it's a faulty card? Supposedly it's been tested, but as it was done by the ones who sold it to me and then it failed again, i can't completely trust their word..

i'll try and get the computer of a friend, i think it could handle the card, it has an asus M4A87TD motherboard. When performing this test, what should happen? (either way, for better or worse)

I followed your suggestion and managed to try the card in a different computer, the "display driver stopped responding" thing appeard again and later again i got a BSOD caused by atikmpag.sys. I now have the card of the other computer running in mine and it seams to have no problem.
the card is the issue as you said, but i still dont understand if the problem is in this particular card or in the model's compatibility with the drivers, this i ask in order to know what to do about the warranty.

Thank you so much, i've spent the whole day on this and thanks to you i know where the problem is!

Another problem came up, i now get a bsod with the other card, the error being dxgmms1.sys. This card was working just fine on its original computer, running games and software like adoe premiere or after effects. i don't knowk what to make of this.

I just finished building my computer too and I am having the same problem with my R9 270x card. To be honest, I don't think it is the card anymore, since there is a lot of people reporting this issue throughout. There most be something wrong with our setup, but I still can't find anything.
My computer specs:
Gigabyte GA-X99-UD4 ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard
MSI Radeon R9 270X 4GB TWIN FROZR
12 GB RAM (DDR4-2133)
Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor
Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
EVGA 850W ATX12V / EPS12V
Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (OEM) (64-bit)
Cooler Master Storm Stryker (White) ATX Full Tower

I have also tried the different solutions provided by other users, and I am still having the "display drivers have stopped responding and have recovered" message.

I am not sure what else to do! Some help will be greatly appreciated.

I did what rolli59 said and tried a differente card. It works perfectly so i claimed warranty on the R9, they're gonna send me a new one and then i'll know if it's a compatibility issue. Have you tried a different card?

I had the same problem with BSOD. But didn't have the driver stop working. But the BSOD program I use said it was the same thing atikmpag.sys. I have had 3 different cards in mine and what I have tried is changing memory. It has been a week since I change the memory and so far no BSOD.
