Can I place a LGA 1155 Cooler on PLGA775

I have 2 spare computers which i would like to use for some spare projects like nas or a pfsense box both of them have damaged coolers. I would like to ask two somple question would i be able to place a LGA1155 cooler onto a LGA775 mobo or even onto a PLGA775 mobo. These are the new intel click fan style so would they just fit into the mobo without issues.

So why is it taht i may place a LGA775 cooler on a LGA1155 mobo? Are they not interchangable?
