I was thinking of buying a Corsair 8GB PC3-12800 DDR3 1600 MHz RAM (model no. CMSO8GX3M1B1600C11) to replace my 2 x 2 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 1066 MHz RAM on my MacBook Pro 13" mid-2009 model, since the logic board stopped recognizing one of the RAM modules and the computer got really slow after than.

Replacing the logic board (the RAM issue is a persistent problem https://people.cam.cornell.edu/~zc227/extras/mid2009mbp_RAM.html, solutions listed on this link didn't work) would be more expensive and I figured this would be a quick and cheap fix for my problem.

Will this work for me? Thanks in advance.

For the most part it should be fine. I don't see why it won't work unless the motherboard really doesn't support it which is a possibility. What would happen is the 1600 MHz RAM you put in till just clock down to 1066 MHz to accommodate it.
