Here you go, more powerful than anything AMD can produce. Also comes with a H97 board, and will be able to use the new soon to be released 5TH GEN INTEL CORES! In this price range and ability to upgrade, this is a steaall.

lol @ your sig newbbuilder11

I wouldn't go with a Pentium for battlefield. It is known to have major stuttering issues on many of the latest titles which can take advantage of multiple threads/cores. Some cases the stuttering is so bad that the game is unplayable. The gameplay videos you posted use an i7 with the 750ti.

At this price point an i3 or 860k would be best.

OP if you could fill out this form: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/353572-31-build-upgrade-advice

It would be easier to suggest a build.

An I7 @ I3 makes little to no difference in gaming. I suggested this Pentium because in my Dad's system he uses it and it is exactly, if not a bit faster than my current I3-4130. In a way this is good for now, as this is on a tight budget this would be great, if the unlocked G3258 can handle BF4, then this haswell refresh 3440 can handle it as well.

The slightly weaker 3420 and a 750 on ARMA 3

Exactly, that is where the future proof I got him comes into play. And I forgot, I meant they are close.

This where I got it from, yes my CPU outperforms my dad's I forgot, I do not know why I had it in my mind they were close, but this isn't that bad either. Even though the 860K beats the Pentium, he can always get a 5th gen core later :)

This second post is in regards to the G3258, the stuttering can be all sorts of things.

When you look at other people's gameplay it all seems nice. I personally feel he should stick with this future proof setup, instead of limiting himself. And I was talking about the 3440, not the 3258 :) And are you talking about my 260x? It's a nice little thing.

I remember you had a problem with League where the 260x wasn't performing as it should have so I brought it up.

Stuttering is defined as severe short frame dips. The video shown above wasn't a good example because he played relatively isolated from the other players on the map. On other videos with the G3258 @ 4.2Ghz when the player walks into an area of the map with high action/multiple players we can see the framerate dip constantly. Also I wouldn't expect to get more than 4.2Ghz on a stock cooler with the G3258.

The other games should run fine on the Pentium. I guess it depends how long he plans to use the CPU in the build for. If it's for a few years he might as well get the 860k. That's why I posted the link to the "how to ask for a build" guide.

Thank you so much

I recall that, it was just some outdated drivers.

As well in regards he was combating players, and he was playing on a relatively heavy map.
