Planning to get a PC built - Given these choices, what motherboard should I get?

Note : I am a complete noob at building PCs, so I'm planning to get one built by a PC store. I do get to customize and pick my parts though, and I've been researching. I plan to make this a strong gaming PC that would last me for 5+ years.

Here is what I have planned for now :
1) GTX 970 (1 piece for now, may add one more in the next years if the need arises)
2) No sound card (will rely on the motherboard's default sound card)
3) 2x8GB or 4x4GB RAM
4) Water cooling
5) 2TB HDD
6) 256GB SSD

The biggest missing piece is the motherboard, and I have no idea what a good motherboard should have and how to evaluate them. Can you give me some tips?

Thanks!

Hi spooky, thanks for your swift response.
I'm not sure how to check and evaluate them but how many video card slots and RAM slots does the Z97 MB have?

I'd like to have the option to upgrade my rig in the future with additional cards when necessary. :D

The board I linked to has 3 PCI Express 3.0 x16 video card slots, so you can run 3 cards if you want. It has 4 memory slots for up to 32GB with a 4x8GB memory kit. Plus the new sata express and a M.2 slot in the middle of the MB.

Various other MB models have different specs.

Yes, the Asrock Extreme 4 is the motherboard I've got my eyes on now. I'm going to get an i5 4690K.
