Windows 7 is still a choice (over 8) for many gamers and builders. If by future you mean the next couple years then likely no, but in the next 5 years or so, things may (and shall) change.

of course it will not be supported after a some years, it's always like that, and not just on OS.

Expected date of games to go mainstream for dx12 is 2016 Q1
