Hello!

recently I bought the G3258+MSI z97 MB combo to bulid a budget OC MMO machine.

the issue I am having is that when I try to change the CPU multiplier in BIOS, it is locked on AUTO. I updated the bios to 4.5 and installed the Intel Mgmt Driver that some OC guides said I needed.

Does anyone have any solutions or should I try redo-ing my setups again?

My build is:

Intel Pentium G3258
MSI z97 PC Mate
8GB ddr3-1600
1tb WD HDD
GTX 760 EVGA
600W Corsair PSU
Hyper 212 Evo
W8.1 64 Pro

Thanks!! :)

PS. btw Genie is OFF :)

Solution
is the auto greyed out? If not try pressing + or - with the multiplier setting highlighted. I went threw this last night with my MSI z97 gaming 7 Mobo for my 5690k I couldn't figure out how to get it off auto and then I read to press the +\- buttons to adjust. If it is greyed out for some reason I do not have an answer.

Ok I will try that when I get off work! that's sounds like a promising solution. I tried clicking, entering, typing and nothing worked LOL. And no it's not greyed out, the value of the core is below it but Auto is in white colored font but no [] like the other values.

Ok cool if it is white then it should work. I was like you I was like what the hell I was pressing up and down, enter and nothing. then I looked at the side pain and it had instructions and one of those instructions said press +/- to change values so I did and voila it changed from auto to 8 and then I kept pressing + until it was were I wanted it.
