Hello,

I have a corsair 450D (3 fans) and a Corsait h110 (2 cans) I have them all running encept for 1 of the front fans because there is no more place on the motherboard to plug the 4 pin or 3 pin (i don't remember now). But there is a plane right next to the CPU_FAN that says CPU OPT. What whould happen if i plug it there? Is it recomended?

Solution
that is for a second CPU fan. You can put a fan there no prob. Will be controlled by CPU temperature. It is technically meant for CPU coolers that use 2 fans.

OH wow, looking at those prices i got scared then i noticed that it is set to show Australian dollars.
;)
The build you see is my first build and i finished it the 03-11-14 3 days ago. The 1st thing that inpressed me is how small ate all the components, because i watched a lone of videos and reviews befor buying, and they lookes big there.
Second, the part that was the most difficult to install was the H110 because i had to remove a fan before installing (i have a mid tower, you have the a full one) and then passing the screws through the holes and aligning them with the holes of the radiator :wahoo:
The CPU is awesome, the motherboard too, the ram too (you have to go to the bios and activate XPM and set it to 2400, it will run 1333 if you don't do that)
I got luck with the card, you know it's popular its problem of coil whine, mine doesn't have it. But my psu does, and it's a little molesting. I will contact the company to see what's the proccess and if a have to send it to get a new one and whait a long time i will stay with this one.
The system boots in like 8 sec. When i first powered it on it restarted automatically 3 or 4 times i don't know why.

I would not get an H100i or h100i personally. YOu can get a $70 air cooler that will outperform an h100i and perform basically identically to an h110 and be WAY WAY WAY quieter.

Also, your motherboard has FOUR chassis fan headers. You have more than enough without using the CPU_OPT header.

You should have the H110 fans connected to a splitter and then connected to the CPU_FAN header. The pump should be connected to one of the 4 chassis headers. This leaves 3 chassis headers open for the 3 case fans.

I don't understand the problem.

Your water vs. air based on ambient temp doesn't make sense.

The water is still cooled by the radiator which is cooled by AIR. You cannot get temps lower than the air that is pushed through the radiator. Air coolers use "heat pipes" to channel heat away from the CPU to be cooled by the radiator fins and fans. You know what is in these Heat Pipes? Water. This is why no matter what the situation, air coolers and closed loop water coolers perform the same when compared, because they operate on the SAME heat exchange properties. Neither is better or worse in high or low ambient temps.

The ONLY advantage to water cooling is that it is more compact.

This was used by me as a guide my proccess buil was PSU>Optical Drive>SSD> then witched to Motherboard>CPU>RAM> put it into case and screw it. Then i mount the pieces of the cooler to the mobo, then i screw the fans and radiator and then the pump on the cpu. Then the cables and finally the gpu and its cables.

where did you put h110 in 450d case and was there any problems?
what about that memory it have 1.65v is it stable...etc i was concerned if that will be problem for 4790k
