Hi there,

I'm new to all this so bare with me.

Right, basically I'm trying to connect several Netgear WN3000RP repeaters (wall socket ones) to a single Cisco access point. When one's plugged in, it works fine. Plug a second one in, it works for about 20 seconds then both repeaters data transfer lights blank out!

My questions are;

Can you connect more than one repeater to a single access point?
If so, how do you do it?

Thanks in advance.

My guess is that the repeaters see each-other and get confused by getting into a loop scenario. -- Repeater "A" sees/repeats Cisco and "B" which then "B" sees and repeats which then "A" sees --- etc infinitely ...

You need some type of wired infrastructure, ethernet cable, powerline, or MoCA and then have multiple access points rather than repeaters. A repeater is a last-ditch solution in my opinion.

Even with multiple access points, you can't expect smooth hand-off or roaming between access points with typical home hardware. You might get lucky and roaming will work but don't expect it.
