Hi guys, so I've been having weird performance issues with my computer anyway I decided to upgrade certain components one by one.

So today I just got my second stick of RAM which is the exact same as the other stick, they're both patriot signature 4gb sticks.

However in the BIOS it says memory 4076mb OK 1333 OK and in windows properties it says 6gb installed (3.97 gb usable).

I've tried checking max memory in msconfig but it reverted to 2gb max when I restarted so I've unchecked it.

I've also loaded optimized BIOS defaults.

Specs:
CPU - AMD FX 4100 (quad core)
Clock: 3.6ghz

GPU - Nvidia (kfa) Gtx 760
Vram: 2048mb gddr5
Clock: 980mhz
Driver: 340.43
Memory interface: 256-bit
CUDA cores: 1152

PSU - 550w generic, certified.

MOBO - Gigabyte ga-m68mt-s2

Disk transfer rate according to Windows experience index is rated - 5.6
Free space - 130gb
Bios - V6.00PG
Page file - 4gb
Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit

Thanks in advance.

Yeah probably, you need to use the right dimm slots! make sure you pick a best answer if you found this useful

Obviously you have a 32-bit operating system.

Switch to a 64-bit OS if you want system to use all available RAM in your computer. 32-bit systems only recognize (and work) with up to 3.7 GB of RAM - no matter how much actually you have attached on your computer.

Your MB has an integrated NVIDIA CineFX 3.0 graphics, probably the amount of RAM is reserved for it.

Sorry this was a waste of time, I switched them around and now it's fully working 8gb.
Thanks for the help though.
I guess they weren't plugged in correctly or something.
