So I'm doing my build tomorrow and am quite worried about any static damage that could occur. The only place I can really build it is on a wooden table which is on top of a rug, on top of a wooden floor. Now, I have to place something under the case on the table, (as my wife is pretty OCD about marks on the table) would something like a piece of cardboard or a table cloth be alright?
Basically, wondering how much static is an issue when building a PC. I have an anti static wrist band which I'm planning to use. I am probably overstating the issue but just want to be 100% sure I don't ruin a lot of moneys worth of components.
So any general tips to reduce the worry of static would be great.
Thanks
