Hi there,
I have a single server (Server 2008 R2 64) and 53 Windows 7 desktops. If the sever is locked by another administrator, or a win7 desktop locked by a user, is there a setting (GPO) that allows you to logon "over" that user and log them off? Or is "switch user" the only options?

Thanks
b.

yep, click switch user and then type in the new user name and password, it will open a new windows session leaving whatever the other user was working alone. Once in the new session you can shutdown or reboot and it will tell you another user is logged in if you continue their work will be lost.
Just log in as another user. it will keep their session open so they will not loose any work they might have open. You can also shut down or reboot in the second session but it will worn you that the other user is still logged in and will loose any unsaved programs that are still open.

But the only option at the server and desktops is "switch user" there is no way to have it like XP where you can type in your name and password and get the message "this will log off the currewnt user, do you want ot continue" correct.

Switch User is the only way?
