Which of these two hard drives should I get?

I am looking to build a PC in a few months, I do intend to use it for some gaming, but not very much. In fact, there is only one game I am looking to get at the moment, which is Batman: Arkham Knight? Now I've been looking at the hard drives, and I am certain I want to go with Western Digital. I was originally going to go with a 500 GB Caviar Black, but I decided to look at the 1 TB drives. I came across two that I like, but I am not sure which I should go with. I am looking at either the WD Blue WD10EZEX or the WD Black WD1003FZEX. As I understand it, they're both pretty identical - Sata 6 GB/s interface, 72000 RPM, 64 MB Cache, 1 TB platter, and such. I've read that the Caviar Black drives are typically faster, and come with a 5 year warranty compared to the 2 year warranty for the Caviar Blue, but I am not sure that it is justified to get the Black. Could someone help me dissect the key differences between these two drives, and assist me in selecting the correct one?

Hi there PK92,

When talking about gaming, only the loading times are really affected by the hard drive's performance. Even though the WD Black is considered to be faster than the WD Blue, you will not experience that much of a difference. So, you should base your choice on whether you want a drive with a 5 years of limited warranty or one with 2 years.

I assume you are buying a new motherboard too which should include SATA revision 3.0. That is where the 6 Gbps transfer rate comes from. When dealing with very similar hard drives, it is best to look at the reviews by customers.
