Hey Community!

I recently installed the Corsair H80i cooler on my rig. I wanted to share with you my setup and later will share my benchmark temps. However, last night i powered on the system (it was late) to make sure everything started correctly, but i believe i may be running at some higher temps then I expected. I will run the full tests later today and post them (when i get off work). I would like to hear your suggestions (or criticism :D ) on what i can do differently or suggestions if i get temperatures that should not be that high. I have the H80i installed with both fans set to intake across the RAD, this is mainly because i had to install one of the fans on the outside of the case or i wouldn't have enough room to set the cooling block on the CPU. (I was debating on flipping around the fan on the inside for push/pull mode on the RAD)
Also as far as Corsair Link, i too am getting the clicking sounds for some of the fans (Front and Exhaust) and i hope they fix that, because i would like C-Link to manage the fans).

I'll post the temps later today.

Below is my specs for my rig and i've included a photo of it showing air flow:

MOBO: MSI 970A-G43
CPU: AMD FX-8350
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i
RAM: 2 8GB Patriot Extremes
GFX: MSI GeForce GTX 760
PSU: Antec TruePower 750W
CASE: Corsair 300R Silent
FANS: 2 120mm Corsair FRONT (Intake); 1 120mm Corsair TOP (Exhaust)

1. Get an imgur account, no one wants to download a picture of your rig. edit: nevermind picture loaded after I posted comment

2. I would flip the H80i fans around and have them exhausting heat, rather than the single top fan exhausting everything, but to each their own.

3. I use the H80i as well, great cooler. Keeps my 4690k cool as a cucumber.

4. Some cable management will help airflow in the case.

Roger that blackbird. I dont plan to OC with this one, but the H80i were on sale and after looking at reviews it seems to be decent cooling device. Just looking to do what i can with this one. I mainly use this for Dayz, Arma3, and CS:GO

I will flip the H80 fans around bdjenkin for exhaust. I just hope that the temps are cool. When i had it on briefly last night i thought they were a little high compared to what others were posting :/

Hey Guys,

Well something isn't looking right with these settings. I'm running idle with just this website up typing this and i'm getting the following. I'm nervous to even run prime for stress test with these results. C-Link is set to balance mode with these results, Any ideas or other screenshots you need?

There is nothing unusual about those numbers. Corsair Link is showing temps in Fahrenheit though, maybe that's throwing you off. Prime that thing up.

Here are the results with Prime running for 10 mins Small FFTs for all 8 cores. How long should i run it? i didn't know what temp is too high. I changed the C-Link setting to performance (full speed Fans). I thought the cooler would cool the CPU well under 95.

That almost doesn't seem right? You were running Prime95 for 10 minutes before you took that screenshot? Your temps should not be that low under load! The core temperature (which is different from your socket temp) should not exceed 62 degrees CELSIUS max. So if those are actually your temps while running Prime95 then you could actually overclock by a ton. I'm guessing that you weren't though since that would not make sense.

I will run another full load test tonight, ill have the machine running for a bit before running the full load. Ill let the full load continue to run to see what happens, i just didn't want to damage anything. What temps should I watch out for? just 62+ for the core?

I just finished running a stress test a little over 10 mins, and this is after I've been on the machine all night watching youtube and playing League of Legends. It looks like my MOBO temps get really high, which coincides with Blackbirds recommendations. If i was to OC the MOBO maybe the first to poop out....

Here are my temps right before the full load:

Here are the temps at full load for ~10 mins:
