If you're building a new PC, then yes, the OS and applications should go on the SSD.
It is more than just boot time.
I thought the whole reason behind the OS being on the SSD was boot time? Asking this cus I wanna be able to fit as many of my games on there as possible alongside the OS
Windows itself will take up around 30GB once you go through all the updates, etc. So maybe 1 game difference.
But the SSD benefit is far more than just boot time. All your applications run faster. AV, image editing, etc, etc. The whole system feels snappier.
Adding in lower heat, noise, vibration. Add in greater reliability....
If you
didn't put the OS (and other stuff) on it, what were you planning to use it for?
