Hello,
I'm new to building computers, and wanted to get a second opinion on my budget gaming build. I'll be using this PC for gaming(Minecraft, Titanfall, CS-GO, etc...), recording game-play, watching videos, and other light usage. Is this PC adequate for my needs(Please post an updated pcpartpicker link)
My budget is 1200-1400, if possible, please try to keep the brands of the GPU,CPU, and case the same.

Solution
The CPU you selected has an locked multiplier, so the only overclocking you can do is a little BCLK (base clock on the motherboard) adjustment.

If you want to overclock, you need a i5-????K CPU. Overclocking changes the calculus. You need a K CPU, an aftermarket cooler such as the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, a Z97 motherboard, and a somewhat more powerful PSU, unless you just want to dabble.

What would be the purpose of overclocking? What benefit do you expect to gain?

In your case, that would mean a different CPU and the 212 EVO, which would allow overclocking. Your motherboard and PSU are fine and you could still fit in the GTX970.
Hi. You have a lot of good things and a few things I'd change. To me, it's all about priorities. The liquid cooler is unnecessary with this system. Dumping two or three fans and combining the money saved from the cooler with the GPU allows you to get a GTX 970.

Thank you for making me happy by selecting a good RM series Corsair power supply, and you could drop down to the 550W version.

If you want to go quieter, then I'd be looking at Noctua fans. A more expensive and a strange color fan blades. The DH-14 is very good and better than the liquid cooler you were looking at and quiet too but a lot more expensive. https://pcpartpicker.com/part/noctua-cpu-cooler-nhd14.

In my opinion i like the water coolers better they look nice and give you a lot more space to work with around the cpu (for ram clearance etc) the h100i performs around the same as the Hyper 212 Evo so it is possible you would be able to overclock and i'm with him on the fact that you should definitely get a 970 i like the h100i so i wouldn't say drop it but definitely take it into consideration especially with how cheap it is. I changed the ram corsair is trusted but i personally dont like their vengeance line and with the 2x4 G.skill Trident X ram you can take full advantage of the room provided by the H100i (it is very powerful ram you will have to enable XMP in your BIOS to take full advantage of the speeds otherwise it will clock down to 1333) i changed your MOBO because Asus is very trusted and this is one of their pricy but very nice board.
I swapped the psu to an EVGA 750 watt fully modular power supply very nice PSU very powerful and high quality materials for the price. I also traded the 120 gb SSD for a 250gb as you can have your OS program files and some games and they will run lightning fast i left the 1tb HDD for your videos when you record your gameplay.

I would seriously advise against the corsair RM 550 the EVGA 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular has so much room for upgrades and SLI aswell as quality components for a low price.

I think we need to keep in mind the objectives of the OP. It's a budget build, although a fairly high budget, and the games mentioned are not the most extreme, and there is no suggestion of super HD or multiple monitors, so I think that SLI is a distant possibility.

In three years or so, when SLI may be desired, a mothetboard, CPU, and memory change may be in order anyway. When an OP talks about budget build, my objective is to fix issues, hold the or reduce price and improve the capabilities of the system. I pretty strenuously fight budget creep. There's always just one more improvement that costs a bit more and improves the system.

Are you in the USA CaptainGoop? The minimum would be a 23" - 25" 1080p 5ms or less IPS monitor which will cost between $120 and 150$ There are several options if you go to PCpartpicker. BenQ has a good reputation and my family has had success with Acer.

I have not yet dabbled in monitors over 1080p, so you will need advice from others there.
