SODIMM: Which is better? 8GB 1333 + 2GB 1333? Or 8GB only?

I know it seems stupid but will there be an actual and noticeable upgrade in performance?

I have a Lenovo g480 laptop with 2 slots for DDR3 SODIMMs. They previously held 2GB in each.

I recently bought an 8GB 1333mHz stick and wondered if there would be a noticeable upgrade i added a 2GB stick to make it a total of 10GB.

Since I'm also contemplating on buying other stuff, maybe I should just go ahead and sell both 2gb sticks? Or should I use 8gb + 2gb. Any reply would help. Thanks.

Solution
better do remove the 2gb, different ram modules can cause incompatabilities and cause crashes/freezing etc. If the laptop motherboard supports dual channel memory you would have been better off getting 2 x 4gb pair.

Yeah, was gonna buy a pair in the first place. But the 8gb was on an excellent sale ($55). And it was Corsair, so no argument there.

So does that mean getting another 8gb of the same stick would help? I actually do multimedia editing (Photoshop, After Effects, that kinda stuff) so I'm guessing higher RAM is good, right?
