Hello,
I recently ordered a custom computer as I thought it would be a good way for a novice to get into custom pc's. Anyways, the order I placed for memory was "16GB(2x8GB) DDR3 2133MHz"  and I do not believe this is what I received with my system. I think I received DDR3 1333MHz sticks or RAM. Here is what I am showing in my system:

Basic Summary:

RAM:

Speed:

I really don't know enough to say for sure before I start questioning the company. Any advice / answers would be greatly appreciated.

Then you got 1333 sticks and I would contact the folks that sold you the sticks. The settings I gave you would work so easily with 2133 sticks and even with your mobo which has a max of 2000.

It looks like the right memory. To get speed what you want you would have to go into the BIOS and enable the XMP profile. That is like a factory safe overclock. Choose the XMP profile that would give you the 2133mhz and you are set to go.

**edit** not seeing the XMP profile in the CPU-z .. check to make sure it is there. So long as you have the BIOS that supports xmp profiles you are good. If you don't then you would have to get the type of RAM that is naturally clocked that way. What is the exact type of ram you purchased?**

If you don't have the XMP profile for it, you can just manually set the timings/voltage of the memory. 2133MHz is most likely an "OC" speed for your motherboard, meaning it is not a native speed and won't run at that speed without a manual intervention.

Thanks for all the info so far.

So I just pulled the actual memory and took a photo... maybe what I should have done in the first place...

Where should I see the XMP profile in CPU-Z?

Ok. I don't see that listed in CPU-Z. So back to the original question of did I receive the wrong memory, does the 1333MHz listed on the sticker show I didn't get 2133MHz, or am I not understanding correctly?

Easiest way is go into BIOS .. overclock to 1866 with 9-9-9-24 timings and no voltage increase. IF you have 2133 mhz ram these settings should be easily obtained and start your computer with no problems. If it is only 1333mhz ram, it probably won't be able to achieve this and not start. Either way that would be your answer.
