Hi there,

I've seen quite a few online comparisons between the two. Can anyone suggest the right CPU to be pared with a mid-range GTX 750 ti graphics card? PC will mostly be used for gaming and the odd video editing. If I really don't need the i5, I would like to get the i3. I have the i3 available for around $100. while the i5 is sitting at $140. How much do CPU clock speeds and cores matter? Help!

well the i3 mentioned has unusually brilliant single threaded performance but is 2 hyperthreaded cores which will always be inferior to the i5 mentioned as it has 4 physical cores and 4 cores means better in modern video games and computer software. but the price difference is a good 40-80$ depending on where you live. i5 is just a luxury!

Most of the latest, FIFA, BF4, Assassin's Creed etc.

Would the i3 bottleneck the GPU I'll be using?

Ah yes. Thank you. When it comes to video editing and more cores, is it to do with how long it takes to render? Is that the only difference?

Probably will go with the i3 as it much friendlier budget-wise without sacrificing too much power.
