cannot open "Documents" from start menu

Do you get any type of error message when you attempt to open "Documents"?
As suggested by i7Baby you should right click on Documents and look at the properties as it could be a problem with the link.
"You can try to right click this Documents icon in the Start menu, point to Properties and click it, you can check the folders in the Library locations area."
