im getting mixed answers about water vs air cooling. i have heard it both ways that water cooling is better than air and that air is better than water even on this site. my main concerns about them is with the v8 will i be able to fit it in system: corsair 780T pc case, asus rampage V extreme, and corsair dominator platinum. with the h110 im woried about leakage. other than that its preformance ( cooling to noise ratio ).

edit: ok i guess i wrote my question wrong so here is my new one: Is it better to have a good air cooler or a good closed loop water cooler

corsair h110. the v8 hasnt gotten the most stellar reviews. plus i think its quite ugly personally. and pretty sure it will fit in a corsair 780T. i dont see why it wouldnt. ive got an even larger rad in a 780t so i wouldnt worry about the fit.

i know that the h110 will fit in my case, i ment would the v8 fit in my case and would it get in the way of the RAM

it depends on how high your ram is. without telling us what ram you have its hard to say. but almost all air coolers are at least compatible with low profile ram dimms. they basically have to be or no one would buy them at all.

and to add: its basically personal preference, but i definitely think its much better to have a closed loop water cooler because it saves space, makes it easier to work in your case without having to remove the cooler, and it just makes your build look more tidy in my opinion.

If you are worried about leaks (which almost never happen), just get the noctua NH-D15. It actually beats the H110. Don't worry about RAM height as this cooler is designed to be compatible with all RAM. It is also extremely quiet. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608045&cm_re=nh-d15-_-35-608-045-_-Product

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emFN5KeGGnc Keep in mind that they use the Noctua fans for all of the coolers, so the cooler naturally performs better than the others due to Noctua's great fan design.

The benefit of a aio cooler is that they are generally easier to install (the noctua is very easy though), and they are smaller. If you want an AIO cooler, Get the Swiftech H240X or NZXT Kraken X61 as they both beat the H110.

ya i found that shortly after posting this ( wish i waited a bit longer to make this thread now...)
i was looking at the h240-x but cant find it any where but their website and says its out of stock. did it just come out and they are just having a hard time keeping up with orders?

It might not have been released yet. Another alternative is the kraken x61 Or Noctua NH-D15. Both of those ae better than the h110.
