Hello everyone, long time reader here first time posting, I am in need of advice on my hardware. I recently picked up an Asus GTX 780 Ti for cheap on Newegg (350$). I could not pass it up for the price, even though I knew it was going to bottleneck my CPU and it did, big time. I upgraded from an Asus GTX 640, so big difference there. I don't know enough about motherboards and processors to make an informed decision. I really need help deciding if I need to go to Intel or over clock my current processor/buy a new AMD processor. If I can stay AMD and use all of this card's power, then great, but if I can't, I would like some suggestion for an Intel motherboard/processor, my budget is 300$ so cheaper is better, but I can go over it if I need to. My hardware is as follows.
AMD FX-6300 3.50GHz
8gb DDR3 ram
Asus GTX 780 Ti 3gb
Thermaltake Smart 750w PSU
Stock heatsink planning to get a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

you have 2 options. get something like an fx-8350 which will boost your performance a tad from the 6300. or go all out and get an intel i5-4690k + a new motherboard and spend over 300 bucks to get the most out of your card. the fx 8350 is no slouch, but its 8 cores lag behind intels quad core i5s in almost all games.

Thanks for the help, I think I am going to buy the fx-8350 along with a GIGABYTE GA-990FXA motherboard. I have been reading and it seems with those and a slight overclock I should be able to get the power I need. It will be a couple days before I order them, so I am going to see if anyone else has any input in the mean time.
