I plan on gaming with a handful of different games on max settings, live streaming (Twitch), and mild video editing from GoPro videos (maybe simultaneously and alt-tabbing). Perhaps i may plan on mild overclocking in the future as well as dual sli cards (with mild/pinch of overclocking the GPUs). I have taken a look on Intel's website to compare i7 4790k with a few different i5 but not sure. I do not mind spending the difference in price if it will be worth it in the future or for what i do, but not willing to spend the extra money if there is such a minimal difference for what I will be doing. All suggestions and knowledge will be greatly appreciated! ^.^

The i7 4790k will blow any i5 out of the water, not just the slight improvement in gaming, but the overall massive improvement for streaming, multitasking etc. because of the i7's 8 virtual cores to the i5's 4. Hope this helps :)

If it is for streaming and editing etc then yes the i7 4970k will perform quite a bit better then the i5 4690k. the i5 will still do the job but a difference will be noticed.
I'd also advice you to go for 16GB of RAM then.
