You i5 2300 still has a stronger single core performance than any AMD so it should be fine for the time being. The Sandy i5s are still pretty strong. Of course a md-range Ivy i5 like a 3470 would be a pretty good upgrade if/when you can afford it.
Yea,but we don't know if he already has a second 770.
If he does,then he can upgrade to an i5 34/3570 and it will run with no bottleneck without OCing.
