Hello!

I'm experience HUGE amounts of lag (so much games are unplayble) in games where I really think my setup are able to perform better.

I've tried reinstalling my graphic card drivers, i've run defrag, I almost emtied my hardrive and I have opened up the computer to remove all the dust from the inside of it.. all without any improvement. And this is how far my computer knowledge takes me.. I'm starting to think that maybe i'm just wrong about that it should be albe to perform better? But the site canurunit.com tells me i'm suposed to be able to play theese games.. what to do?

Thanks a bunch in advance!

computer spec:
AMD Phenom(tm) 8550 Triple-Core Processor
3,00 GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9300 GE
Win 7 x32

WHOLE NEW COMPUTER. They don't make DDR2 RAM for years now, Video card is on Do NOT support, your OS is only 32Bit not 64, Not enough RAM, etc.

Go to www.slickdeals.net, buy a i5 Computer ($349 or so) making sure it has at least a 300W PSU, then order a 750Ti card ($149?) from PCPartsPicker, pop it in the computer and you will have a low end Rig that can support these and more games, but will be positioned when you get $300+ to get a real video card (760, 770, 780, 970, 980) for modern games.

If this all sounds 'too expensive' then take $129 get a PS3 from Gamestop and not have to worry about any of this, ANY game for a PS3 will WORK with no worries about upgrades, OS , RAM etc.

Your graphics card is hopelessly outdated, sorry to say, your whole system is fairly old. I wont expect anything else but lag in todays games.
Maybe updating your driver and do a system cleanup will help get better performance!
Good luck :)

Thank you for the fast answers!

Well I've tried updating my graphic drivers and i've cleaned the system as much as i know how to..

I kinda knew my set-up wasn't the best so it's not like i've tried playing crysis 3 or max payne 3 or something like that :p

But some of the games i have tried, but feel they are unplayable because there is way to much lag, is:

Cities XL Platinum
Civilization V
World of Warcraft
Euro-Truck Simulator 2
Banished
Tropico 4
Airport Simulator 2014
The Sims 3
Spore

where i feel that atleast some of these titles should be playable with super low graphic settings, with my set-up.. but maybe i'm wrong? If so, would a new graphic card do the trick?

First off your not telling us what games nor what 'settings' your playing the game in?
Second your system is TRASH literally, the NVIDIA card is on the DO NOT SUPPORT LIST, your running 32Bit Windows, only have 3GB of Ram available (most games alone, NO WINDOWS need 4GB minimum), etc. Basically for BEFORE 2009 game this MAY play some, but even then it is too low end for those as well.
Lastly, you can perform the 'BASICS' to make sure YOUR system is setup / working as WE may think it is, but we need to MAKE SURE.

Download and run SPECCY, copy and paste the first tab to show your specs

Remove whatever AV your using and go to www.filehippo.com and download Comodo, Avira or AVG (AVAST! been hacked so I don't recommend them anymore) and do a full system scan - this repeatedly has resolved alot of people issue relying on MS Essentials and Norton tends to get in the way of alot of programs it seems.

Download Malwarebytes do a full system scan (AV doesn't pick up alot of malware) - this resolved almost ALL other similiar posts to date as most had Malware the AV didn't pick up.

Repeat the AV/Malware scans till the system comes up clean.

Did you install all Windows Updates? Including options except BING? Check them and repeat till ALL are installed.

Download and run Slim Drivers, install all the latest updates but you don't need to reboot until you do the last update

Those games are pretty CPU intensive. And your CPU is really weak. It is 6 years old already.

ALWAYS check at CANIRUNIT and it will tell you what you can and can't run. IMHO NO nothing more then Spore would be playable on this computer.

So I've come to understand that my set-up is quite shitty now :) But what would I have to do to be able to play theese games at, let's say medium graphics Is a new graphics card and some more gigs of RAM enough or do i need a whole new comp?

New GPU won't cut it as that CPU will bottleneck pretty much most of the new GPU's on the market.
So you'll need both new CPU and GPU.
If you want more Gigs on your PC then you'll also need a 64bit OS.
And to power them you'll also need a new PSU.
In short- Yes, A new PC.
