Background: College student @23 years old. Final semester in college.

Hello and good morning. I've been looking into a upgrade for my computer for some gaming alongside media playback. The current system I have is a Dell Insprion 3847 as specs as follow below:

Intel Pentium G3240 3.1 ghz - 54w
1 TB Seagate 7200rpm
4gb ddr3 1333mhz (Max for mobo/cpu combo)
Intel h81 mobo(Dell made I believe)
GT 630 1GB DDR3 384 Cuda cores @902mhz
Dell OEM 300W PSU with output of 12va@ 17 amps and 12vb@7 amps with total of 216, but psu says also max of 300w.

Right now, I have about only 100 in my budget and desire to not spend it all. Right now, Best Buy has the gt 640 by Zotac @2gb DDR3 for sale @43.99
http://

while newegg has the r7 250 @89.99 from MSI.

or the used gtx 750 superclocked from amazon@87.47 with free shipping
http://

Which one will work best for my current setup?

Gaming wise, I'm not expecting anything higher than medium or @ medium with games like Bioshock Infinite, Shadow of Mordor, Skyrim, Batman Arkham Origins, Max Payne 3, which are all playable on my current setup @30fps and above @1360x768 or low to 720p dependent on settings in game.

I assume that the gtx 750 used is the obvious choice, but I've heard stories of people overclocking the card till burned out and return it back either telling of the reason of failure or not as all. So in short, is going used worth the risk in the gpu as I know thats its "broken, but now fixed" or something similar.

Ok, I do stand correct on the used gpu statement that came from other threads and stories I've saw. In honesty amazon seems like a legit place for used gpus and after dealing with them many times for other products they have never sent me a broken product. So I will look into the gtx 750 and mostly likely get it. Thanks for your help Trave, I do appreciate it.

Your welcome! enjoy your HIGH settings in games!(or ULTRA well with that screen resolution why not?).
