Issues With Razer Synapse 2.0 Software Install

Hey everyone, having a bit of trouble installing Razer Synapse. It keeps telling me I'm not connected to the internet, and I most certainly am. In fact, it's given me this error while I'm streaming a YouTube video and attempting to install. I do have another program with an identical taskbar icon open, and it gives me the option to open Synapse, which I can do- I'm able to customize brightness and macros and stuff. The other icon gives me the option to install Synapse 2.0 (like I said, this option doesn't work). What's the deal with this? Do I have anything left to install? Thanks for any help.

I hate suggesting this, but this does seem to be a bug in the most recent version of Synapse. Have you tried doing another restart and seeing if it works then? I get this issue every once in awhile on mine as well, where Synapse won't open despite running in the background, and a restart usually fixes it. You could also try killing Synapse from the Task Manager and then starting it up again from your Start Menu and see if that works.

I will admit this software can be a bit of a headache when it doesn't work, and the issues are usually minor. I have found that as long as it's running in the background, even if it won't open, it won't lose your current profile like outright crashing will do, but it is a headache as it prevents you from...

Thanks. I may have to re-install, because that window doesn't appear anymore so I no longer have any sort of access to Razer Synapse. I'm going to try using wired Ethernet to install it instead and see if it recognizes that. By the way, I read that some people are experiencing issues with Synapse making their devices unresponsive/useless. Have you experienced anything like this? Also, what product do you own (pure curiosity, I'm just asking on the off chance we own the same thing)?
Edit: read your signature- the Naga. Hope it works well for you :^D

I would definitely recommend making sure whatever version you had is completely uninstalled first, then reinstall it from scratch. The issue seems to occur if Synapse is already installed and you hook up a new Razer device, as that's what caused my issue.

I have a Blackwidow Chroma that's brand new (that's when I also got this same issue) and a Naga Epic. Recently bought a Naga 2014 and moved the Epic to become my laptop mouse (Since it can go wireless).

I love my Naga and love my Blackwidow. I've been nothing but happy with my Razer products since owning them. To answer your question though, I haven't had any of my devices over the years (I've had my Naga Epic for almost 3 years) become "useless" or unresponsive because of Synapse.

That being said however, I have had my mouse lose its profile (i.e., goes from my SW: Old Republic keybind setups to "Default" profile) if Synapse crashes in the background while I'm using it, but once it either restarts itself or I relaunch it, it goes back to the right profile on its own.

Awesome, thanks! Glad everything's going well with all your stuff. Uninstalling Synapse through the Control Panel (hopefully that's enough) right now. I'll re-install it from a new installer, and hopefully this time the install process will go as it should. Have you ever had any trouble with it not recognizing an internet connection, as I have? If so, how did you fix them?

I had trouble with the "second" Synapse on the hotbar not recognizing an internet connection. Once I uninstalled completely, and downloaded and installed a copy of Synapse 2.0 straight from the Razer website, I did not have any issues.

Uninstalling from Control Panel should be enough.

I re-installed and after the restart prompt it sits in the taskbar. When right clicked, I get to "Open Razer Synapse 2.0" or "Close Razer Synapse 2.0" Closing it ends the task, and selecting open yields no result. In short, it's there, but it won't open. What do I do?

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. Heard running as admin led to launch, so I'll end it in TM and relaunch as admin. Will post results.
