Hi Everyone, I'm searching for a new panel and want the opinions of others on which one I should buy. I prefer to only buy from BESTBUY or FRYS since I hate ordering stuff. My budget is 200 so anything over that is a NO GO. So far im stuck in between getting this IPS panel http://www.frys.com/product/7215383?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG or this PLS panel http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-23-6-led-hd-monitor-black/3923007.p?id=1219094474333&skuId=3923007&st=categoryid$pcmcat200900050014&cp=1&lp=1 The ASUS monitors carry 3 year warranties while the sam only has 1 year. Is this something I should be concerned about? Both seem like decent monitors.

I've had monitors from both brands. I like the Samsung PLS screens, they're pretty good and Samsung itself has a pretty good track record for quality/reliability (but hey thats just me). With the ASUS models, (or could've just been my screen) i felt that they aren't as bright, if only by a bit.

I would say, go with the Samsung.

That is exactly how I feel about Samsung as well. Since a child I have always owned Samsung TVs. I have a Samsung 1080i LCD that is 6 years old sitting right next to this crappy LG 1080p TN failing panel right now and its still going strong. Only dislike about the Samsung panel is the 12 month warranty. I heard PLS>IPS and the Samsung panel has a gaming mode as well, which is exactly what I plan on using it for. Thanks for the reply and the encouragement :)
