Been struggling with this, finally got my new gigabyte gtx 970 card, hdmi-hdmi to my plasma tv wouldn't work, bought a cable, displayport-hdmi doesn't work either. Reset bios, used the jumper, factory reset tv.

The dvi port works to my regular 20 something lcd monitor.

Tried to update mobo P8H61-M LX2 bios is at 605. (latest bios available, asus wouldn't search properly, bah)

Can not connect video card to samsung plasma 51" tv via HDMI or DISPLAYPORT-HDMI.

Tried : updating bios (already current) -Reseating video card/8(6+2) and 6 pin power cables, as well as ram sticks.

-Reset cmos via jumpers, also removed mobo battery and hard reset the bios. (changed time back and also tried to change priority to pci-e/pgi instead of pgi/pci-e.

-Different driver versions after multiple clean reinstalls, some after using the driver removal third party software (display driver uninstaller). (344.16 and 344.60)

-Factory reset TV.

I know the HDMI cable and TV port are working properly, the tv also recognizes that I have plugged a cable into the HDMI port(s) but simply says "no signal".

-Tried Nvidia control panel>set up multiple displays>My display is not shown>Rigorous display detection (instantly says nothing found and asks to enable tv detection, on next startup??) The second part of this "force television detection" is always greyed out no matter what I do, it does appear to have a greyed out check in the box after the previous option, but [RESTART NOW] is also greyed out. Have tried restarting from start menu obviously, also noticed if I close that window on the control panel, then immediately re-open it unchecks the tv option, so it may not even be attempting on startup...

Reinstall the graphics driver, also check for updates.it probably remembers the previous info about your tv but its not providing signal.
[Make sure you are on the right chanel or select your input.]
I also have an LG tv and 2 weeks ago connected my pc via RGB, it went brilliant, but struggled a bit to play .mkv
Check if your PC has any key to enable the video out.
Or if still failure
Try changing your HDMI cord

Tried that to the point of my fingers almost bleeding.
As far as tv inputs tried both cords on both many times(during installs as well), I know the hdmi cord works because it was working on my previous video card a day ago, the brand new displayport-hdmi should also not have any flaws.

I kind of had the feeling something wasn't resetting as well, but other than finding every single shred or Nvidia in my registry I'm not sure what else I can do to erase any previous settings.

Just try your GPU card in some other person's PC and TV
And if the problem still persist, get your GPU replaced

Are you sure your previous GPU was working well?
Was it ATI Or Nvidia?
Still, go back to the shop and report your problem!
Sometimes the problem lies in the hardware, try alteast

So got it connnect, in the DVI-I port only, literally no other port worked. All was fine (apart from the garbles resolution) until it booted into windows with the driver installed, then was kicked out of the system back to no signal.

I know the problem will persist, no matter what!
I still advice you to test out your Stuff and someone else's PC /TV
Or just report a hardware defect to Newegg...
Try a diffrent connecting cord even though both are new, you might have a super rare hardware defective case!
These suggestion would definately give you solution!
By the way do u have an SLI?

If the driver software are up to date then theres no fault in drivers!
How well is the card working on monitor?

Are you using windows 8? Because i just upgraded to 8.1 from 7 and only the two dvi ports are now working on my gtx670. Each time i try to turn on the other monitors using either windows or the nvidia control panel my machine either freezes or finally comes back with an error about not being able to save settings.

In my livingroom i got a Samsung 55" LED TV D6300 and still say: no signal! last try for me before i will chance the card is: i ordered a DVI-HDMI cable and will connect my TV via DVI and my monitor also via DVI. i hope it will works.

sorry if something wasn't right, iam not writing in english very often.

I had this problem and tried every solution I could find on the web. Then I realised some TV's won't pick up the signal from the PC through HDMI unless you rename the source on the tv to 'PC'. Stupid, I know, but mine has worked perfect ever since!
Hope this helps!

I had a known bad cable (HDMI/DP) and ordered a new one to connect my tv to computer. It had worked before with with the old cable using 3 23" monitors in vertical surround and a 21" tv running from the display port from my gtx 970.
I could not get it to see the tv even though it showed in the NVIDIA control panel. I would tick the box, hit apply and the ticked box would clear itself.
After reading this thread I realized I had rolled back my graphics driver because I was having fps issues after installing new driver. With this problem now I went and opened NVIDIA Experience and downloaded an even newer driver than the one I rolled back. The TV took to it right away on the first try.
