Can someone please tell me what is a PCI slot used for? Also, I want to know if I will have just 2 USB 3.0 ports in this build

Solution

Yes if you want your PC to be able to connect to a wireless router or any wireless network.

If you do get one, just get a USB wifi adapter.

PCI was the predecessor to PCI-e. If you look at the zoom-in of the NewEgg link, you will see the two slots on the right side look different. Those are the PCI slots. There used to be lots of cards for PCI. You can probably find used network cards for PCI slots if you desire.

The manufacturer's website lists two USB 3.0 ports available on an internal port. That could connect to the USB 3.0 ports on the front of the case. Additionally there are two on the back of the motherboard.

The case has two USB 3.0 ports that can be used when connected to your board's internal USB 3.0 header. That is in addition to the two USB 3.0 ports at the rear. There is eight (8!) USB 2.0 ports in the back.

PCI slot is used for PCI expansion cards, like network cards, sound cards, wifi adapters and such. However nowadays you will find more PCIE expansion cards that require PCIE slots.
