Acer XC-605 graphics card: R9 270 or GTX 750Ti or...?

Hi!

I recently purchased an Aspire XC-605 (model: DT.SRPEQ.044). It has a 220 W PSU and an Intel HD 4600 Graphics Card.

I want to install a dedicated graphics card and I'm considering either the Radeon R9 270 (R9270-DC2OC-2GD5) or the GeForce GTX 750 Ti. But I don't know if they will fit my motherboard. Also: do I need to upgrade the PSU?

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

/ Chris

You are either trolling or you didn't check the specifications of the Acer XC-605. It has only space for small low-profile cards and even the cooler height of the GPU shouldn't be too high ... apart of that the GPU shouldn't take more than 60-70W or the PSU will protest. The 270X takes 200W+ in some situations while the 750 Ti takes normally not more than 65W~, thats just a quarter while giving enough performance for games like Battlefield 4.

There is space for a dedicated card on the motherboard I believe. But also make sure the actual card will fit inside the space of your case.
You will need to upgrade your PSU to at least a 500w
And between the two cards I would go for the 750ti :)

Quikxx, thanks for your reply.

1. Which PSU can be recommended?
2. How can I find out if the GTX 750 TI will fit?
3. Other suggestions? :)

Regards,
Chris

The "kfa2 geforce 750 ti" (Low profile version of the Nvidia 750 Ti) should fit in an Acer 605 and doesn't needs any power connector. It might work with the 220W supply because its not very power hungry, simply needs a test.

Space could be indeed a problem because as far as I remember only a 1-slot GPU fits without case modifications into the 605, at least there are vent holes for a GPU so that part won't be a problem.
