Noob here. I have read forums of similar questions but I don't know where to start. I have installed an SSD in my Windows 7 computer, and would like to erase the old HDD so I can use it for storage. This is where I am at:
1. Backed up HDD to external hard drive.
2. Removed HDD and installed SSD.
3. Installed my Windows 7 onto new SSD.
4. Plugged HDD back in as second drive (booted from SSD)

At this point I would like to erase everything on the old HDD (including OS) so it can be used as my storage drive.

My question is how exactly do I do that? I know D: and E: on Disk 1 are the HDD, just don't know what software or the proper way of reaching my goal of a clean formatted HDD. I already have software installed on the SSD so don't want to screw up!

Thanks!!!!!!!

Thanks USAFRet, that was a lot easier than I thought.
For future reference: I right clicked each partition and selected Delete Volume. Next I right clicked the now single partition(?) and selected Create Simple Volume. Went through the wizard with default settings to format drive. Very easy.

Thanks again.
