Hi guys, im new here so.. i don't know if my thread is in the right spot, im sorry for that.
So... i have a motherboard HP ms-7557 ver.1.0
Cpu is on the place, so as rams and hd. The power supply in plugged and the green light on the mobo is on..

My only problem is that i don't know how/where to plug my front panel connector since the one i have is an 9 pin that wont fit in the place.
I've searched everything since manuals and tutorials and i can't turn my pc on just cause my connector wont fit in the place.
On the mobo is written PB/LED so i think thats the power button and front panel led and is a 9 pin as 1 is left at the middle. Like this: http://tinypic.com/r/i4qw5c/8

And my case front power button is like this:http://data.stuartconnections.com/object/image?p=11876&i=1

Both are 9 pin but on the mobo is the middle on thats left. And in my connector is one at the side.
Please help me if you know how to solve this since i don't know anything else i can do.
Thanks in advance. (Sorry for my bad english)

Hello... Yes, brands like HP/Gateway make their own NON - standard connectors...
1) It is possiable to identify which wire is for what, by following the wires.
2) and then release the pin from the connector... use a small tool, toothpick? and push the small tang in and pull the wire from rear of connector.
3) Re-insert and Arrange the pins back into a connector that matches your NEW MB pin arrangement.
4) If you need a different plastic connector , check your local Computer RE-cycling store for cheap similar parts to use.
It takes a little time and Thought, but in the END you will be successful... B )

Thank you i can handle it ;)
I just thought i would need to buy a new case. Those with front panel connectors separately. Now i just need to search a little bit in order to find wich are the power button pins on the mobo.

Hello... Most commonly it is called the J1 connector and your Manual/PDF, for your MB, will have a good close up picture of it. Be aware any LED connection is polarity sensitive... you will do no harm if it is connected wrong... just switch those wires around for proper Disk activity and power ON LED display.

Hello... here you go... section 7.8 figure 7.2 http://www.manualowl.com/m/Compaq/8100/Manual/111358?page=25 does this look right for your MB? there seems to be two different types.... OPPs sorry wrong number of pins?.. B (
I would make a educated guess... SPOCK would not understand.
1) pin1 is HDLED+ and pin 3 is HDLED-
2) pin2 is PLED+ and pin 4 is PLED-
you will not hurt anything to try this combination at the P5 connector.
Nice picts by the way in helping me help YOU!
