Hi everyone I am looking to build my first gaming pc and was wondering if anyone could give me advice on what GPU to get?

At the moment I am looking at GTX 760 or Radeon R9 270x

Which one is more powerful and which one is better value for money?

for nvidia in order of best, evga, msi, gigabyte then asus. for amd same order but replace evga with sapphire.

honestly all 5 brands are premier, get whatever is cheapest out of the evga acx, sapphire tri-x or vapor-x, msi twin frozr(gaming), gigabyte windforce, or asus dc2 coolers.
the 760 is faster than the 270x. it really depends on the price. the 760 is more comparable to the r9-280(non x), and you can find them both near the same price.
$180 for a 760 on a good deal.... but unfortunately the deal is dead now...

$170 for an r9-280 on a good deal... but again a dead deal...

$100 for an r9-270(non x) for a steal....

the r9-270(non x) is just a slightly lower clocked 270x. you can easily overclock a regular 270 to beyond out the box 270x speeds. i personally dont find the 270x very attractive for this reason.

deals come and go pretty much daily. within the next week there will be great deals that will come on as they are very common now with the uber popularity of the gtx970, which ive seen on deal for $299...
