Questions about upgrading from Windows 8 to 8.1

A pop up Windows message just came up telling me to restart my computer to finally upgrade to 8.1. I already have Windows 8. I could only choose to postpone it up to 4 hours, so I have no choice but to bend over and take it in a few hours. I have a couple questions I cant find answers to so far.

I dont have any Microsoft Live accounts on this computer, just 4 local accounts and I want it to stay that way. Will I have to make a new account after I restart and when Windows 8.1 is being installed or can I just log in with one of my existing local accounts? Also, will any of my accounts be deleted under any circumstance?

Will it do something like a fresh install? Basically, will I lose my data and programs? Ive read that if going from W8 to W8.1, you keep all your data and stuff, but I want to make sure and ask here.

Is there anything else I should be concerned about? I really do not want to lose any of my local accounts, do not want to make a Microsoft account (one reason is so it wont sync with SkyDrive automatically), and I really cannot lose files, programs, data.

Please leave any help and feedback. Thank you!

Everything should stay the same, apart from the fact that you'll get new features. So you should keep all of your files and programs and other things.
If you have a AMD/ATI graphics card, after upgrading, your screen might go black apart from your cursor, like mine did. If you restart your computer will roll back to a system restore point and I lost 3 days worth of data. I haven't found a way to fix this.
