And for my operating system I am using OpenSUSE.

Every time I log in to my account a few minutes later the entire screen freezes. Does anyone else have this issue?

Does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks.

I have already tried Ubuntu 14.04LTS, it doesn't even finish install... Gives me Errno 5. I may try fedora beta, but I think it's just a hardware compatibility issue. (My GPUs user manual says requires windows xp/vista/7/8)

This sounds to me like a hardware issue rather than a software one. A way to test this would be to try installing Windows. You don't have to keep it, so an unactivated version would be fine - you just want to test whether it works or not. If you get similar problems then you can be sure it's a hardware issue.

Does the SuSE system log give you any hints?

Errno 5 is a I/O error. What does this mean:

You have a Bad burned CD/DVD. Could be bad batch of CD's or your burner is not working correctly or corrupted download or in worst case your motherboard could not be working correctly.

Check the md5 of the ubuntu iso. Burn it again at a lower speed or boot from a USB flash drive instead. I like www.linuxliveusb.com for making a bootable USB.

No error messages. The thing is I can do whatever I want for the minute BEFORE it freezes. The. No matter what I was doing the screen freezes.

(I've unselected your choice of my last post as "Best Answer" - it isn't and I suspect it was an error on your part; it seems to be very easy to select BA accidently.)
