Ok, just swapped from my 970 ASRock extreme 4 to this Sabertooth. It is starting just fine, but when it reaches the Windows 7 loading screen it crashes about 2 seconds in. The blue screen flashes real quickly and then it restarts. I updated the BIOS with the disk in the actual BIOS. Didn't do anything. Also I noticed the RAM is running @ 1333 instead of 1866.

I am assuming it is because Windows is still booting with my previous motherboards drviers. However I just wanted to get some input. I am going to try and reinstall windows and see what happens.

Solution
You cant it should be on AHCI when windows is installed. Not after. Otherwise it'll crash

If it were mine I would do a clean install, which will fix it

Think it is ram - there is something known as the blue screen of death which you might have normaly is caused by ram. Try outting it to the proper speed and make sure it is inserted into the recomended slots

Just to be sure I tried swapping the RAM to slots 1 and 3... didnt change anything. Also tried to change the timing to 1866 and is saying the Overclocking has failed. Reinstalling windows now.

I am assuming its probably because I went from ASRock to ASUS. I should have stuck with the 990 from ASRock, may have avoided this then. Oh whatever. Lovely computer troubles ;)

But still, what should I do in terms of getting the ram running correctly. It is 1866 ram. But running at 1333. And whenever I changed it to 1866 it was saying overclocking failed.

Well that seems to have solved it. Swapped it over to IDE and it boots fine. What is the best setting for this to be set too? IDE or AHCI? Installing MB drivers now.

Is there anyway to set it up to on for AHCI or is it even worth it?
