How much is my CPU bottlenecking my GPU?

I know that my CPU is bottlencking my GPU. I just wanted to know, if it's worth an upgrade.
These are my specs:

CPU: AMD Trinity A10-5800K
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master TX3 EVO (Double Fan Setup: intake - stock, exhaust - Be Quiet Pure Wings 2)
GPU: MSI R9 270 Gaming 2G
MOBO: ASRock FM2A75M-DGS
RAM: 2x4GB Kingston 1333mhz
PSU: Chieftec 500w gpa-500s8

Is my rig worth a MOBO/CPU upgrade for my GPU? Any suggestions on what CPU and MOBO to upgrade will be appreciated!

A10-5800K Overclocked heavy will be okay with a R9 270 I don't expect to see much throttling. Your power supply on the other hand draws the big 0.o.

You wont gain much of anything moving to a Athlon 760 or 860 if your wondering.

I chose an APU, because it was my first build, and didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on it, but now I'm thinking of upgrading. Budget is on the lower end, so nothing too hardcore.

What's lower end? Just throw out a number. Is this mainly for gaming and what type of games do you play?

I think the answer lies somewhere between what the two people above said. In some games that are heavily CPU users you probably get some pretty bad bottleneck, and in most other games you probably get little to none. I certainly wouldn't consider the cost of upgrading worth it at this time as the bottleneck overall would be pretty minor, and i would instead advise a good overclock on the CPU to help make up a little bit of the difference.

Budget could be around ~200 euros, haven't really decided on it yet. Mostly trying to keep up with AAA games, but I play some Indie games too.

I was thinking an 860K personally....no motherboard change. Not sure about the gains though.

Yep. My PSU is the only reason why I haven't overclocked my CPU.

I'm not sure on the gains though. It might be minimal or zero.

Well if he was buying fresh that wouldn't be bad but since the onboard graphics are deactivated they aren't producing heat so it should overclock just as well as the 860K, so upgrading would just give the marginal IPC improvements. I just don't think the gains will be worth its cost.

Though seeing he has 200 Euros (I'm sure you probably didn't see it as it probably was posted while you were typing back) I would advise you overclock your current CPU and just sit tight for right now. Either next month, or in Spring Intel is expected to release their new Broadwell CPUs, and if you save up maybe 250 Euros you can get a decent budget motherboard and a lower-end Broadwell i5 and have a massive CPU improvement. I think that would work out best for you in the long run.

Yeah see that's what I figured. I was going to recommend a lower end i5 but that's out of his budget.

Technically the APU's are a bit faster than Athlons since they have double the L2 cache, buying a Athlon now wouldn't be worth the $$ for you. Replace you power supply and Overclock the CPU. You are at the end of the line for FM2+ anything further CPU upgrade wont warrant much of a noticeable increase.
