Good evening Gentlemen,
I've just assembled a new rig however it doesn't start. All fans spin for a second and cease right after. Power light remains on the motherboard. I've checked the main power 2x12 and ATX-12v-2x4 connectors and they are snug. What could be the problem ?

Cpu: i7 4790K
Motherboard: GA-Z97X-UD5H
Ram: 16gb G.Skill Trident F3-2400C10D-16GTX
Video: GTX970

Please help

Solution
It needs BIOS F7 to support that CPU. This is the 2nd to last BIOS on the site

Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz 8MB 350 MHz / 1250 MHz Haswell Refresh 22nm C0 88W 100 F7

And, unless this is on it now it wont do anything

If this is the prob, only thing you can do is use a CPU that the mobo supports, then flash it then put this one back in

Or you'll have to buy a CPU the mobo supports now then do the above

I thank you VERY much for the information. Its appalling how gigabyte touts that this motherboard supports intel gen 4&5. While it does, just not out of the box.. Damn..

I will purchase a supported chip tomorrow and follow your instruct set. Would you recommend upgrading the bios to the latest offering of F8 or should I stick to F7 ?
